Road accidents kill four in three districts

Four people were killed and another was injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday.

In Magura Sadar, two people were killed as a sand-carrying truck collided head-on with a pickup-van on Magura-Faridpur highway near Ramnagar Bazar.

One of the deceased was pickup-van driver Hanif Mondol, 45, of Narayanganj. The identity of another victim, helper of the vehicle, could not be known immediately.

In Joypurhat Sadar, a man was killed as a mini-truck hit him from behind on Joypurhat-Tajpur road in Tajpur village.

The deceased was Rasel Mia, 22, of Boro Tajpur village under the upazila. He died on the spot.

In Manikganj Sadar, a man was killed and another injured as a bus hit their motorcycle on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Muljan.

The deceased was Tarikul Islam Sohag, 36, of Jessore. He was a cloth trader in Dhaka. The injured was his cousin, Towfikur Rahman, who was driving the motorcycle, said police.
