Masked robbers looted Tk 2 lakh, gold ornaments and other valuables after beating a couple at their Tongabari house in Ashulia early yesterday.
Babul Hossen, 48, and his wife Raima Begum, 40, are undergoing treatment at Enam Medical College.
Some 15 robbers broke open the door of the tin-roofed house and beat the couple with iron rods as they tried to resist.
Hearing screams, locals rushed there but the robbers managed to flee with the valuables.
