Bangladeshi-born Behnaz gets key post in Obama admin

President Barack Obama has nominated Bangladeshi-born American Behnaz Kibria for a key administrative post of the United States.

According to an announcement of the White House on January 16, Obama nominated Behnaz Kibria as a member of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations.

The US senate will decide whether she will be appointed. Behnaz is currently the deputy chief of Staff for the Office of the US Trade Representative.

She received her BA from Wesleyan University and a JD from the George Washington University Law School. Born in Dhaka, she lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband and two daughters.
