The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday arrested a computer operator of Road and Highways' executive engineer's office in Brahmanbaria allegedly for misappropriating Tk 5.5 crore through forging cheques.
In Noakhali, ACC arrested Chairman of Chhatarpaia Union Parishad Abdur Rahman in a case filed with Sudharam Police Station for amassing wealth worth Tk 38.24 lakh from unknown sources and concealing information of Tk 3.43 lakh.
Meanwhile, the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) authorities suspended its acting executive engineer Saifur Rahman who was arrested on Sunday by ACC for illegally amassing wealth worth Tk 33.93 lakh.
